There is no tellin'. He didn't preach in my husband's pulpit for a long time and then he repented to our church for his former self and he was given another chance. That was 4 years ago or so and it didn't last very long. My poor sweet husband, he tried sooo hard.

Obviously if you are living a lifestyle that is questionable, you would WANT to believe that everyone is already saved, and they just don't know it yet. I recently heard an ex-UPC guy preach this that most of you would know if I called his name. (BUT I won't!!).

It's not isolated to the Oneness pentecostal or UPC stream as you might think Sherri. there is a Lady out here named Bishop Yvette Flunder, a former COGIC preacher and grandaughter of a bigtime Bishop out here.

She is having a MAJOR influence on the black church! she, Al sharpton and a few others are having something called "The Black church summit".

I just hated his knack for pratical jokes. He knew this and of course it just encouraged him to torment me. Of course, I say all of this "tongue in cheek". And really who wants the first stop on your honeymoon to be the carwash? Well, it was for many a poor sap who invited christian Garrett to his wedding. don't feel too special. LOL
That must have been the reason he fitted so well with the Georges they were are big practical jokers.

I'm sure this is true; the oneness groups are just my only frame of reference.

That is the wierd thing, I remembered the revival when my daughter reminded me because it was pretty far out for us at the time. He was doing some really agressive evangelism things, avenues we hadn't tried before. The whole revival was just kind of wierd for me. The strangest part for me I guess, is while I remember the revival, and the events surrounding it, I barely remember him at all. I don't really remember his preaching at all. Just strange. My daughter does a lot of the media duplication for the church, she said she just noticed the tapes (right before we switched over to CDs) from that revival the other day and was thinking about it. She remembers more clearly and she said he just seemed disconnected from everything. I don't know, it is still weird to me that I have so little memory of it. It may just be early senility, who knows.

That's not odd to me...sounds just like him. He would argue for arguments sake. We had so many debates in my kitchen about absolutely inane, unimportant subjects because he was bored or missing his preacher friends. Whatever side I took, he took the oposite. And he always had the last word, even if it was under his breath.

FOR SURE!!! The folks that only got stuff done to the outside of their honeymoon getaway car were the lucky ones. What they did to the insides was disgusting and without discretion. Poor Joel. He and Tawanna really got it. My husband almost started a riot at his and Tarah's wedding because he forbade anyone to mess up their car for Tarah's sake. He called the whole group in before the wedding and told them that no doubt Christian deserved it but Tarah didn't and not to ruin her special day. They honored his wishes. I think it was the hardest thing that the George bunch ever had to do. LOL
