True, but maybe the standards were not high enough so that is why God clothed them(?)
Seriously, there is much to be said about what transpired in the clothing, but I would like to point out that when God clothed A & E, it was a type and shadow of redemption's plan as has been preached.
Could it be that God also was demonstrating that there is validity for holiness of dress since it WAS a type and shadow of redemption?

Please explain how you connect a shadow of redemption, which is God providing for our sins a spotless lamb, with "validity for holiness of dress"?

Very elementary my dear Watson. He put proper clothes on them that were acceptable to Him. Their own righteousness was inadequate so He clothed them.

Jesus was crucifed NAKED. ( Heb 12:2; Rev3:18; 16:15) Michelangelo was the first to paint a loin cloth on him.

The golden girdle was a belt.

It means He was dressed for a ceremonial occasion. Notice that Jesus is not described in the Gospels in this type of outfit. His dress is remarkable because of the remarkable occasion.
For purposes of having a realistic example to follow I would recommend the "every day" Jesus and his Apostles from the Gospels and Acts.
Of course, as this includes skinny dipping with your buds ( John 21:7) I think there should be some latitude. For example- if you go fishing in my boat you had better keep your clothes on while in the boat. Don't fish naked and then put on your clothes to jump in the water like Peter did.

Jesus is picture with a garment down to his feet, could this be used to teach against shorts?
I've also read where because the priest only showed his feet.hands and face when going into the holy place, we should to only show that much.

I actually heard TFT use this scripture to prove that it is wrong for men to wear shorts. I was shocked to say the least that he would stand against them.

Sometimes people feel that they must take a stand publicly because to do so will lessen the pressures in other areas of their ministry.
This does lead to confusion. I think the answer is for us all to take a consistantly Biblical stand with an allowance for brethren of good will to disagree a bit in one way or another.
The whole 'shorts" issue is just such a thing. Northern European attitudes don't always work out very well in the tropical and temperate regions of the globe. Often times they don't even work very well in Northern Europe.

Well, I have often wondered if the sisters can wear skirts that come to the knee what is wrong with men wearing pants that did the same.
