We speak things that are not as though they were... but when is this done at the expense of truth?

That happens because the ones that do it are really not what they claim to be....most of Pentecost is really far from the "ideal" that we want and so we end up manufacturing results, rather than waiting on God with prayer and fasting and just believing in Him. BTW what do you mean by addressing the devil in prayer? Didn't Jesus speak to devils? Is that wrong? I mean, in order to rebuke them.

I don't know about cursing sickness...Jesus cursed a tree and it died...is it wrong to curse someone's sickeness and expect it to die?

But the rebuking the devil in tongues? LOL...how do we know what we are saying? What if in tongues we are actually praising God? And then the tongue speaking on signal? That's just bizarre...

I've wanted to post this for a while now, but has anyone ever watched the 700 Club? They have this part where there are two, a man and a woman, and they pray and then they get the word of knowledge..in turns!

One will start and mention there is this person with this condition and God is healing you right now....then when that person is done the other person does the same thing.

Well they had this one time where Pat was praying and there is this young attractive black lady that is his on air assistant/host and she is supposed to be praying and getting a word of knowledge too....so Pat is praying and getting the word of knowledge and he stops because it's her turn, but I guess she is knew or just forgot her lines or whatever so has to remind her and now she got the word of knowledge too an starts telling someone of their condition and that God is healing them...

You know what it seems like to me? People are writting in prayer requests and they are acting like the Lord told them.

Watch it sometime. But that lady forgetting it was her turn was priceless!
