Well, to some it is ... there's a church not too far from my house in Gaskin, Florida who adheres to the old teachings of women not shaving their legs, women not wearing their hair in any type of curls, either haves to be in a bun or down. They believe the world is flat instead of round ... I've heard some say that they don't believe in wearing deodrant, but I'm not able to comfirm that because everytime I've visited their church or been around them they don't smell or anything of that nature.
As for as robes go ... I won't fellowship a preacher who wears anything like that, or a clerical collar. We're not Catholic, or Episcopalian, Orthodox, Luthern or anything of those ... I believe a preacher should wear a solid white dress shirt, a full suit, and tie.
Scarves are just considered a "cloth necklace" and I don't believe should be worn.
Cloak-a loose outer garment ... people shouldn't wear clothes that will not be
modestly formed to their body in that they are not revealing their nakedness.
