No need for alarm.....
Tawada just landed in California and is heading to the Valley to take care of her sick huuuuzban!
Seriously though.....I don't think they have had a moderate earthquake since the last big one in the 80's.

I was living in the Bay Area in 1989 when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit, which I remembered as being a 6.9. I thought it was the big one when it hit, because of the duration and the violent shaking that occurred.
When I saw the news coverage of Interstate 880, I realized that it I could have easily been one of the victims that were crushed when it collapsed. I traveled on that stretch of freeway frequently and the Bay Bridge, which had a section collapse during the quake. It was very surreal to say the least.

I was about 5 miles from the epicenter & it was definitely a scary experience. I was in the area for business & eating dinner when things started moving. My boss said, "I think this is an earthquake", then things really started shaking for about 5 seconds. You could feel panic start to set in, everyone jumped up from their tables, a server ran outside screaming, I stood up & screamed, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus". Then it just kind of rolled to a stop. This worst part was the elevators were not functioning & I had to walk up 8 floors to my hotel room.
Thank God for his protection!
