Booker Letter

This might be old news, and I just missed it. If so, I apologize. Just wondered if anyone else had received this or seen this?

Dear Brother,

It is evident that we are in sad, tumultuous times. The vote for the acceptance of T.V. (which, as we all know, is really what it was) seems to have been 'the straw that broke the camel's back' for many, many people. I am amazed at the deep, heart felt response from so many that cannot and will not go in that direction. This speaks well for the many that still really want to do what's right. As for the UPC, truly, God only knows what this vote has brought upon it. As far as I'm concerned, it is a heartbreaking tragedy of immense proportions. However, I do know that the UPC will always have within its ranks some of the greatest people in the world.

But, yes, there definitely is a meeting, an 'Apostolic Summit' that is going to take place, and where a different direction will be offered. It will convene Thursday night, Jan. 24th and all day & night Friday the 25th. It will be held at the Green Country Convention Center, Tulsa, OK. There will be an announcement sent to every licensed minister in the UPC.

The men at present who are directly involved in this formation are thus far Johnny Godair, Kenny Godair, Floyd Odom, Crawford Coon, Nate Wilson and myself. We are resolved to go all the way and it seems that there is a host of others ready to do the same.

PLEASE believe me when I say that I AM NOT nor will I EVER be interested in another 'AMF' spirit and attitude. It has and has had many very good men in it, some of which are good friends, but too many within its ranks (not all, thank God) increasingly lent themselves to critical bombast until there is now basically nothing left.

God Bless,
You're a Good Man!
Hope to See You There,
LLB

wow...talk about an assumption. No wonder they are leaving. That is evidence of a closed, subjective mind. You can't reason with people like that

Seems the tone of the letter is that Bro Booker knows or believes he knows...otherwise why all the hoopla? Why say God only knows?

I wonder what that means by a different direction "being offered" when we were just told in another thread this meeting is not about leaving the UPC to persue other avenues?

formation? Go all the way? Does this NOT sound like a meeting to break away?

AMF...another group that went their own way...not another one like theirs..it does seem to me that the purpose of this meeting is not just an exploration but intent ON breaking away no matter what

Would be really curious to see what the person who started that other thread has to say about this.

Old Paths said it is from Booker.

This is the same issue I was banned for speaking about. That's why I haven't posted on either thread too much.

Can I say it now?

It is very obvious that a couple of men on the other Tulsa thread were knowingly lying about this issue.

I don't understand what the big deal was.

It is now obvious that a new organization is soon to be a reality.
