Without a single doubt, this is one of the dumbest postings I have read in a long time.

Pa started on the frame house that spring. We had been living in the sod dugout up until then. Except the girls, they moved into the loft of the barn as soon as that was built.

Some itinerant Methodists come around from time to time and folks would go to the revivals. Of course there was no dancing allowed for several weeks after such a meeting. Pa's drinking became more secretive too. It was a tough winter - lots of cold but not enough snow. The cisterns in the bluffs are low and pasture for the cows will be sparse.

Well, that's the news from the farm.
You ignored it once, and sidestepped the second time. Was GR lying or not when he called that 5 PM meeting during Spring Break?

Wait, in Hannibal, it suddenly was not the same story anymore.....

The closing never came.

Except for those who had real lives after that.

LOL! You forget - but I remember well... I snuck off campus to go visit my girlfriend that spring break! I wasn't there and it actually took me a bit to piece together who "GR" was. Getting "real lives" made a lot of difference for those who were able to.

Funny how things are really the same all over. I know a District Superintendent [ out West ], and his runner-up in a recent election, who used to do the same thing.

Let's see Monkeyman, let's see ............. let me make some inquiries from Margie or Louise or ......... others in the know. I just might need a favor from you some day!
You, from all appearances, are doing great so it would appear that what they say is true, "God is merciful!" Actually it is because you had such great parents! I can still see and hear in my mind, your Dad singing at church. What a voice!!! Have a blessed day my friend.
