The thread didn't offend me. Stereotyping of any sort does.

Racism was no problem for me in Louisiana.Closer to Alabama however its alive and well.I had never ever been treated differently because of race but here I am treated as though I owned slaves once or something.eek.The first member of my fathers family that came over from France was an indentured servant.
That is someone who has a contract that could be transferred from owner to owner such as slave could. Its wierd to see racism so alive.I hate it.

You might want to go to Livingston Parish, LA or Moss Bluff, LA and you will easily find a "chapter" of the repetitive alphabet still active even if under the cover of something other than a sheet.

A few yrs ago we were returning from a mens meeting in Rialto. It was late evening and on the side of Hwy 99 in the distance I could see a bonfire and a few men standing around wearing the triple letter garb. Didn't expect such in multicultural California.

Ministers would not come with us to Vidor for a sectional meeting as they were black.I was told that Vidor used to do court business along time ago under a tree at a table outdoors. The people were sweating for more than one reason.
