As usual, TimLan hit at the heart of the issue.

Why aren't more blacks in leadership positions in the UPCI or ALJC? Is it because none are qualified? I find that unbelievable!

But in the UPC's strongest districts, race relations were and probably still are no better than the world at large.

Pentecostals in the south should then be a social phenomenon and an exception regarding race relations ... but of course that is not the case.

Timlan, it probably should be noted that the Texas you were speaking of in your post is not all of Texas... 80 to 90% of what you are talking about can be said of East Texas mentality, which has been and still is the driving force behind the Texas District... IMO..

For this reason and more, the South Texas district was born to get away from that mindset... I think you or anyone else would be pleased with the way South Texas has progressed (at least in race relations.)

This is the very reason that I'm pressing PraiseHymn for a response. This is a gross misinterpretation of scripture in my mind, and I'd really like for him to tell this board whether he really believes that all the souls saved under your preaching will be lost.
