Wednesday night we have our first official Christmas exchange - my MIL always has one for her daycare kids and it is this week. Jasmine is biting at the bit wanting it to be Christmas, she asks everyday if it is time yet. I think we might make one of them chain things where you remove a link every day so she can see when it will be Christmas.

We got our house decorated Saturday... at least the inside is decorated. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed though. We bought a new living room suite this past spring when our income tax refund came in-- and the couch takes up so much room that I don't have room to put up the Christmas tree in the living room. I can either put it up in the dining room/kitchen area or not put it up at all. So I settled for setting up a small fiberoptic tree on the sofa table. I didn't even set up the Christmas village this year. Because there is no room for the tree, the train couldn't go around the tree either. So... it's different this year. I told hubby I'm going to sell the living room suite and get something else just so I can put up the tree next Christmas. LOL
I have a small mother of pearl nativity set out (no room for the large one I have packed away) I have tons of stuff that I don't have room to even put out in this house. I kind of went overboard in buying decorations on after Christmas clearance sales over the years... so since I can't put them all out at once, I will just have to rotate the items each year and decorate with different things. Until God blesses me with a huge house and plenty of room to put everything out.

The Chrismas chain is a great way to keep the kids from driving you nuts asking everyday! I remember doing it as a child and doing it for my children!!

Our schedule is filling up fast also. There is a ladies secret sister Christmas party, a leadership Christmas party, the children's Christmas program, Church Christmas banquet, married couples class Christmas party, The adult choir's Christmas concert..... plus all the family get togethers that have to be fitted in there somewhere.
I like the idea of the Christmas chain. I think I will let Kara help Michael make one today for art. Somewhere in all the Christmas decor, we have misplaced the Christmas countdown board we usually use. It's a small reindeer chalkboard with an eraser attached to a string. Michael usually counts down to Christmas on it... but I haven't come across it yet this year. So far I've been letting him tear off the pages on a small desktop calendar that I have here. I think he'd like the chain thing better.
I need to get back to work. I have got to find a box to pack an ebay item in. Surely I've got a box from amazon.com here somewhere that would work.
