God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message

I hope you choose to follow Jesus' example and instructions if so you are a wise person.
For you folks saying this is a cultural thing that is NOT correct the host did not wash the guest's feet he gave them water and they washed their OWN feet read Gen. 18 & 19 when they came INTO the house NOT at the end of a meal.

Well let's see now. I have participated in many foot washing's

and if you drove over to Illinois Elder E, I would wash your feet for you.

So if I don't wash feet in a "church service" again have I washed enough feet to make it to heaven???

If we don't hold a foot washing service again, no one will be disobeying God by not coming to said footwahing service and will not then be in rebellion.

Can we then be viewed as saved folks and have fellowship with thee church of God?

Galatians 3:10 (KJV)
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Elder, You better hope you're as good as you think you are...

Again Elder....it was an object lesson, an example of humility. The example showed service to others.

The fact that Jesus did this service and he was Lord showed them in no uncertain terms that he expected them to be in service to others and not to think that they would be the ones being served.

It was a great example, but that is what it was ..an EXAmPLE.

Now Good night and God bless...I'm gonna go wash my feet and go to bed !!

It does not say now many times and someone may die and get a chance to wash feet however if they have the opportunity and refuse then they will be lost. But if the church is having a footwashing service it is for the entire local body why wouldn't a saint go and wash another saint's feet. It is a very humbling and moving service. I have been healed and abundantly blessed by washing the saints feet and having my feet washed.
