Well, I COULD help set up a computer network and run cabling. And my wife is itching to get back to Brazil.....
Oh yes... and we will have our new passports in about a month.

Rio...what a city...beautiful and dangerous...and of course the ever present slum areas...

I'm happy in the calling that The Lord has placed on my life, but I do desire to do some things for The Lord ,that I haven't done yet,I do desire to help others find salvation through The Lord Jesus Christ.

Sister, pastoring was not what I desired for my calling. I wanted to evangelize or be a missionary, and thought for sure that was my calling.
But those doors never opened, while a few different doors seemed to open up as a pastor.
I fought it for a few years, until one Sunday night while preaching, God confirmed what I should be doing, as well as where.
He has confirmed it several times over in the last eight (as of Jan. 1) years.

Thinking about my own calling in the ministry,
this was what I was thinking....
**************************
I sift through the times
allotted to me over my life
directions chosen
doors forced open
some forced shut
Not being happy
with way things have came about
I know though that
if I chose differently
then I am not who i am now
I would not have the scars inside
I would not have seen the confusion
when sun doesn't shine
But yet looking back
somethings worked out
as it was, at least, at least..
at least I am who I am
and no one can take that away
no matter how much I wish it could be done
but I know, that some people
I would have never met
and some doors would never been opened
and some paths would never been traveled
that ultimately
was probably for the best
as now I walk in a different path
listening to a different drum
humming a different song
than most in the ranks I suppose to dwell
as now a new route can be chosen
and mountains bulldozed
so that others can have choices
and an easier path to follow
as they make their way
through life
For sometimes
the first to have a dream
will never see it realized
but without their trials and efforts
the dream can
never be brought to fruition
