how old is your house/plumbing....if its old you can make the clog worse with drainOH No I have ruined the plumbing!

try a plunger...it will work on sinks too....put water in the sink first to push some into the drain...if you know how to get the stopper out do that first...
Did all that already.

I need to take the pipes apart at the U. That's where my problem is.

Too bad I'm several states away;
I have some really slow drains. We've used a snake and taken pipes apart in basement etc but the house is 45 yrs old and the pipes are a bit sluggish.

Does he do furnaces? Ours quit yesterday....and it's only 10 yrs old. My husband is determined to fix it himself. It's getting really cold inside. I survive with an electric spaceheater. Current ourdoor temp 6 ; indoor temp 54 brrrrr.

hey if he were close he would sure try....the problem in your waste pluming can be lots of things....are you on a septic tank, are there trees near your outside lines that may be growing into the pipes...is there a chance they have been broken by a car or etc driving over them, could it be there is not enough grade in the line....also sometimes if you have little ones things can get flushed that should'nt be...also if there is a crack or a rough spot in the pipe things like Tpaper, hair can catch on it and slowly plug up the pipe...sometimes the only answer is new plumbing...yes and if they pipes are cast iron they will slowly close up over the years....

Why then are there so many plumbers who are depressed?
I think they have their own plumbing problems - because they always turn down a drink of water...

You must not live too far from me.

My furnace or thermostat has been acting up too. I replaced the thermostat with an electronic one and it worked for almost a week, then I noticed the temp in the house was 60. A friend came over and putzed around with it and got it working again. He has no idea what he did though...LOL!

But it's still working for now.

This house is about 75 years old but the drains are all fine except the stupid bathroom sink! My son thinks he 'accidentally' dropped a razor cover in it....terrific!

Unhappy

Quick, mark it down, he called the furnace repairman. All of his efforts were in vain. He had his volt meter and tested all the wires and electronic parts.
The main circuit board is dead.....

The Sunday rate is $150 plus the part $380....a very necessary expense with great timing. He won't be here for 3 to 4 hrs. Of course the furnace quits on the coldest day.
