And we wonder why the Christian world at large won't listen to us more.

Are they willing to listen to you, MOW?

If so, what are you telling them happens when a believer receives the Holy Ghost?

Fine. How about if you gave us the full quote on context?
Maybe that be helpful...?

I agree with TRFrance and Barb. The first part is biblical. The second part is sloganeering.

And then I also concur with Coonskinner- there's a lot of sloganeering around everywhere.

You're in an agreeable mood this evening! What did you have for supper?

Good point. With our reputation and the public perception of OP's in general, maybe we HAVE TO go that extra mile and try and make certain that we're doing those "cheesy" things that characterize so many others as well.

This doesn't mean that we're "worse" than everybody else when it comes to "cheesy" approaches to evangelism. It does mean that we should be better than most everybody else, however.

I have no idea where the quote came from, but like others have said, the second half of it is basically just the kind of pithy phrase that goes over well with some crowds.

But is just seems like kind of a cheap shot to me.

Believe me, there are lots of publications on the other side of the fence to lift quotes from.
