Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Just a quick thought here.....
In this scripture the words "yoke" and "burden" can both relate to a certain set of teachings or 'doctrine'. This is one of the ways Strongs defines the words:
- troublesome laws imposed on one, esp. of the Mosaic law, hence the name is so transferred to the commands of Christ as to contrast them with the commands of the Pharisees which were a veritable 'yoke'; yet even Christ's commands must be submitted to, though easier to be kept.
Therefore it's correct and safe to say that Jesus' doctrine/yoke/burden was "light" particularly compared to that of the Pharisees.
