The yelling in their ears to say things and actually taking their chins and trying to help them along. Numerous times I have witnessed this.

BTW, I just opened this thread for the first time, and there is no way I am reading through all 42 pages of it.

A few comments...

Forums swing back and forth; sometimes they swing a little far one way or the other and sometimes they don't ever quite make it back.

This one has swung far enough that I personally don't feel as comfortable as I used to. And that's fine. It doesn't exist for my personal use. It is made up of many posters with divergent views. That's cool.

I am not interested in crusading to try and change it, even if such a thing were possible.

And it may change on its own...who knows?

I still like some of the folks here, and so therefore I drop in from time to time, post a little here, a little there, and when I get bored, move along.

I will say that the mix isn't the same as it used to be.

I'm trying to help you to understand that words have meanings. This is why we use words to communicate. Can you go over your last four or five posts and tell me that anything you've said makes any sense?

You have come right out and and said that you would NOT consider me a swine if I took your words out of context. Even if you had Matthew 7:6 and its context in mind, you are telling me that I am a "swine" if I take the Scripture in context.

Then you do a little dance and say, "I proved my point." ???

I appreciate this post Coon!

I would like to make it more comfortable for you and some others such as yourself to come back more often.

My pastor wouldn't have tolerated that for a second.

We were taught that you don't have to "help" the Spirit speak through a person.

Encouraging someone to worship is fine; trying to get them repeating some garbled phrase so fast that it sounds like tongues is bad juju.

I'd be scared to death to try and make someone think they had received the Holy Ghost if they hadn't.

As a pastor, I don't allow that goofy stuff in the altar either.

Thank the LORD!

I think it is very sad. I've seen people just get thick tongued and the minister will get in the mike and say "he's got it". I'm more comfortable letting the person tell that they received it.

Anyway, your perception would greatly be enhanced if you removed your Coke-bottle rose colored glasses.

No one mentioned names here but you raised your hands and identified yourself. In Bill's version, someone throws a bullet in the furnace. The teacher starts talking about the anonymous problem child's mother. The kid identifies himself by yelling out, "Stop talking about my mother and I didn't do it!" Hilarious. Exactly how you identified yourself

Crackedegg identified himself in the same fashion.
Did I give you permission to change my name? Oh, where is Chan?

I skipped the last 8 or so pages of posts (I have my preference set for 20 per page). If I am out of synch with the thread that HAS to be the reason because I am usually totally InSynch!

I am a firm believer in the new birth according to John 3:5-8 and Acts 2:38... the water and spirit doctrines or erroneously named 3 stepper doctrine.

I have found myself frequenting the site less since the referenced imbalance has occurred. Not so much because of the imbalance but because of the sick to my stomach feeling I get from the merry go round!

I stated in another thread that the mulberry bush has become a mountain top and those who continue to go round it seem to get lower every time! JMHO

That's a hypothetical/philosophical question. But in the real world of AFF, its a real issue, whether or not it should be. As long as there's an AFF, the issue will come up.

Even when I have posted stuff on non-PCI/PAJC topics, several times I've had certain PCI folks try to hijack the thread to insert their PCI agenda into things. (Very annoying to say the least.)

That's why I said earlier that some of them seem to lay in wait like lions in the bushes looking to pounce on some fresh meat.

You know--forums are funny.

Sometimes one or two posters, if they are dominant enough by the volume or gravitas of their posts, can alter an entire board.

I've seen WWOD do it, and I've seen Daniel Alicea do it. Their styles and views are quite different, but both are very strong influencers.
