Good Morning
I look forward to coming here and reading what you all are doing. Thank you for including me in your life and letting me have a peek at your day.
My dd usually has Fridays off but because of the holiday she was asked to come in so I have the baby today. She actually came last night with the baby and they spent the night. It is always such a joy for her and baby to stay overnight.
I woke up at 5:30 this morn. hungry to start my devotional. It was probably God reminding me that if I wanted to spent some quiet time with Him I needed to get up. I spent a few wonderful minutes praying and reading the bible and I heard a little voice say-"mama mama wey A-mama" Baby talk for "Mama, where's grandmama" and my heart swelled thinking how sweet he mentions grandmama second then he said something that sounded like "she has my thomas the train." lol Serves me right for getting proud.
Today
Dd has left for work and I have put in his thomas the train dvd movie. Hubby is off work this week and he is sleeping late.
Now baby has brought his new car "number 24" race car to me and he is pretending that he is driving it in circles. Must be a guy thing.
Have a great day everyone

Good morning Adra....its so good to see you posting with JOY and happiness....
My hubby is off this week also, and he is still sleeping....really I think he could sleep around the clock! I think its partly depression, but getting him to admit that...well ok it probably won't happen. His dad was on anti depressants for years...
I am hoping we can get out a bit today, we have been in the house for a few days now and I need some outside activity...
we bought an electric blanket for our bed, finally after years of climbing into a cold bed!!! Oh last night it felt sooooo good to get into that warm snuggly cacoon...we are going to go and find one for the guest bedroom today...for our poor friends who have suffered with out a word...lol.
God is good and I am blessed........I pray you are too everyone!!!

Hello everyone- Adia you are a welcome addition to our gang! I spent yesterday taking Christmas down, packing it away and straightening the house. We are closing on our condo in Shreveport next week- I get to shop and decorate a new place! Something I love to do. We are going to drive up on Jan. 2 inspect the place and then close on Jan. 3rd. We are planning on bringing the bed with us and a couple of lawn chairs and a small TV. We will be camping until I can go shopping and get the furniture delivered. We will probably be there for 3 or 4 days this time. Then come home and make another trip up there to bring some of our extra furniture.
God has been so good to me! I have been reflecting on the year and I want to praise HIM for his love and care. Got to run. Check in with you later.

This sounds like such fun...I love nesting! To have a home away from home would be so nice too...years ago my hubby's parents had a little shack/cabin at the coast, I loved it...it was simple, open the door sweep the floor and make a bed! My granny had a house at the coast which was fun too, but more work, you had to clean, do laundry...well I might as well stay home to do all that...lol....

It's been fun to read about everyone's Christmas holiday and just share experiences with one another.
We had a quiet Christmas...but I really enjoyed my kids this year! Our two younger boys got legos and playmobiles...I sat and played with them both for quite awhile, it was fun and relaxing. We also read each night on my bed...these are memories I can always look back on! Our two oldest really enjoyed their gifts this year...they were so thankful and for that I'm grateful. My husband and I did not exchange gifts this year and that was good...we have each other and that's all we really need.
I got a return phone call from STS's hubby and that made my day! We talked and laughed just like old times...

Thank you both for making me feel special.

My dh was also depressed for years. I did not understand at all until I got a computer and started researching some of his moods. His moodiness was getting worse and I reserched and found out that vitamin B would help. He has been taking it for about 3 years and most of the time it is like an entirely different person.
If he is already taking it get him to up the dosage some.
I hope this helps him (and you).
I feel that through all that happened (the death) I have gained some patience with myself, and a little wisdom. I realized that the torment that I felt was Satan causing me to feel anxious. And then I realized that God is in the midst of my praises and Satan flees when God is near. So everytime Satan threw the depressing thoughts at me, I just began praising God for being so wonderful to me. And my joy and peace comes flowing back. God is good.

We just recently moved back home, and purchased a home.
My husband had only seen the house once before going off to training then onto Iraq.
Before the children and I moved in, we had the remodeling done.
We have been here since the end of July, and I discovered I was not crazy about the colors in my dining room and kitchen, (just decorated in June)
So....Christmas day mom came down and we recovered my dining room chairs, and little by little I am working on the kitchen.
It is just a matter of going with a different color.
I want to get everything done before Jan 5, 2008, since my husband will be home for a 2 week vacation. (He then returns to Iraq until around April.)
Hope everyone has a good day.

Sis welcome to Gabby's glad to have you here....having your hubby in Iraq must be very hard for you....In what state are you living? You must be close to family and that is very good...how many children do you have? Boys, Girls?
Bless you sis...and your husband too...I have such deep respect for military people...I used to be a army wife, and my husband is a vet....

What a great idea!
You kept yourself busy during a hard time and are making the place more to your liking and going to be able to surprise your husband!
So glad is able to come home for a couple weeks!

sI play the piano and he plays the bass, and what a "time" we had.
The little one sings with us, (when she has time ).
Yes, we are glad he is coming home.
The Lord knows how I have worried about him.
I do not always worry, as there are times when I "put" him in God's hands, and I receive peace of mind, (as it should be).
Then I have times that I begin to worry, especially if I have not heard from him in awhile.
...but....God is our refuge, a strong and mighty tower.....He is good all the time!

I cherish the times when my daughter and I used to play together. She played the flute and I played the keyboard. We also used to turn the car sound system up on high and sing to the top of our lungs. We would laugh and laugh together. Every once in a while now, we will get in the car and one of us will turn the volume up......and we just have a good time together. Seems like as I am typing this, it comes to mind that we are due for a time like this, the next time we are in the car together. They grow so fast and before you know it they are out of the house doing their own thing and you hardly see them anymore. At least not near as much as you'd like to. I don't know what I'd do if she lived in another state.

We are back home (my home state) in Ky.
Yes, my family is very close, and my husband is like their son.
My 2 children are the only grandchildren.
My son is 14 (although he looks as if he is about 18).
When we visit churches, all the girls think he is older.
My little girl is 5.
My mom and dad have been down several times this week to help me wrap up a few loose ends around the house, (hanging curtains, putting down molding in the kitchen, around the edge of the wood floor.)
Mom and I made the curtains for my little girls room.
We made pink balloon shades with black ribbon trim with pink polka dots.
Her quilt is black and cream toile, and the dust ruffle is black with very bright pink polka dots
My dad wanted everything to be done around the house, when my husband returns home, so he can rest.
I am changing the wallpaper in my kitchen.
I am going with brown, creams, taupes, and just a small amount of blue.
I have a french country thing going on in the kitchen.
Well, sorry if I "tired" you out with all of that work.
Lord Bless !

your daughters room sounds so cheerful and bright...I bet it fits her. Your son is at a good age to help his mom, I hope you are very close. My son is all grown now and we are such good friends...he is a real blessing to me.
