Nothing about Pentecost was "degraded." The "bias" was really rather soft- and it was from a Pentecostal perspective as well. It was basically written from C.H. Yadon's perspective. Do you think C.H. Yadon would have a "Pro Anglican/Catholic" bias and do you think he would seek to "degrade" Pentecost?

Nothing in Fudge's book could be taken as being against the Pentecostal experience.
How could you possibly say that with a straight face when the name of the book is "Christianity Without the Cross?" Can you be anymore insulting than that? It certainly is biased but a good read and profitable to anyone who loves American Pentecostal history.

Do see the effect that Steve Epley's labeling and name calling has on discussion? All he did was call Fudge an "Anglican" and suddenly Fudge is "degrading biblical experiences" in the minds of some.

Why did you stop calling Fudge an "Anglican priest," Steve?

Please reread my post. When you ask, "How can you possibly say that" you should have something that I said in mind. *** Just adding a note: What did he say that was degrading to the "biblical experience" associated with "Pentecost?"

Again, if you spoke to him on the phone and came away from that conversation calling him an "Anglican priest," why have you dropped the "priest" from your labeling?

Fudge's "bias" and his "criticisms" and even the title of the book and the Photoshop work done to the painting on the cover were all criticisms coming from within the Pentecostal community.

Though Fudge himself has "moved on" he was raised in the OP movement and has family that are still within the movement. In his book he was often an amanuensis for C.H. Yadon and others who are still solidly (or in the case of Yadon, passed away) within the OP movement. He never disparaged the Pentecostal experience.

Throwing labels around like "Anglican," and in another thread "Bapticostal" is a ploy to hide the truth about someone's rhetorical opponents. We shouldn't fall for such obsfucation; but rather, we should seek to shine even more light upon our subject.

I just stated a fact if the man is ashamed he is an Anglican then he shouldn't be one!!!!!!!!! That is HIS label not mine.
