Unlike some of the personal attacks on him, which apparently are ok with impunity, Dan's posts went to ideas not persons.

Fortunately, I have the pleasure of communicating with him in person on a regular basis.

I would similarly add to CP's disclaimer, I may disagree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it.
