Five-fold ministry = Moses + 4 carriers of Ark??
I heard a minister in the past tell that he believed that the five fold ministry was symbolized in the old testament by Moses (the pastor) and the four priests who carried the ark (who are the other 4 ministries). He said that the other four are subject to the pastor. I don't really find this proved or disproved in Scripture, but it sounds a little far fetched to me. I do believe that the pastor has a responsibility to keep things orderly in the church, so don't get me wrong...I'm just not sure that it's saying what he said it did. Have you heard this? Comments?

His idea is false. Can you imagine the Elders who Paul ordained rising up and telling him now he had to be subject to them? Or the Elders telling the Prophets what they could or could not prophesy?
They are to work together as led by the Spirit. Each has his place. Our biggest problem today is simply finding true ministry period. I would be thrilled to find true Elders and teachers much less an Apostle or Prophet.
That does not mean I dont believe in them I do. Im just saying 33 years of experience among Charismatics and Pentecostals has yielded no Apostle so far. If a Prophet is judged by the strict Old Testament guideline of never being wrong neither has my experience brought me to a Prophet.
Im sure their out there and pray always that they come to light for the sake of the body of Christ. Its almost amusing that a Pastor is already staking out his claim as the "greatest among the brethren".

That would be somewhat humorous to see I would think that if anyone was to be above another (which I don't believe is the case), then the apostle would be the highest.
Anyone else?

The minister was wrong! It was those that carried the ark plus the one sitting on the throne of the ark - between the wings of the cherubim.

I don't think it takes that many to carry a Bible. I thought Paul set up church government did he not?

You are looking at it from the point of view of a local assembly, but Christ is still the head and he has his five-fold ministry for the body, for that is the only way the body can reach perfection. ( Eph 4:12)

Numbers are mostly symbolic especially in the book of Revelation were this type is fulfilled. The four beast carrying the throne of God in which Christ sits.
You can see the Ark with the Churubims carrying it in the cloud in ( Eze 1:1-26) and then in ( Rev 4:1-6)
