(One more sentence)....When people look past that he is "one of them" he is more liberal in his spending than the other candidates AND lacks depth to his issues (one liners are not gonna work).

I'll take a shot at it, if you don't mind:

Huckabee doesn't have enough broad appeal, (and particularly, appeal to the political center), which is what is going to decide the election.

Exactly. Going into Iowa he was a media candidate. Fox News was interviewing Democratic strategists...and they ALL WANT Huckabee to be the Republican nominee. The liberal media, IMO, want Huckabee to be the candidate as well....because they know he has "no chance in the lake of fire" of winning the election.

That's a key point. He's great with one-liners, but he doesn't seem like he'd do well in one-on-one debates. I don't get the sense the has a solid grasp of the issues. If he does, he sure doesn't come across to me like someone who does.

I think Billary Clinton, and even Obama, could make him look bad in head-to-head debates.

You got that right. I noticed in the debate last night...they were all grilling Mitt Romney on certain issues and Romney kept focusing on the issue. Huckabee, when challenged, would make one liner's and turn it around. How many times did Romney ask Huckabee to focus on the issues and not "personal attacks?" (NOTE: After Huckabee vowed to the media and the "nice" Iowans that he would refrain from this activity.)

I find it interesting that these two quotes are both reasons people would not vote for Huck.

(not that I am trying to sway anyone I dont know who I am voting for in the primary....i will support the eventual Republian nominee.)

First we have "Huck is too liberal, second Huck doesnt have broad appeal to the center.

Odd. the center likes guys who spend some. So on the surface these 2 criticisms dont seem to match....

but, I cant sit here and say it is unfounded either.

The thing that gets me on Huck, is every time I hear him talk, I like what I hear. every time I read about him, I dont like what I hear.

I actually think the media as always puts their own slant on the candidates when reporting. The ads the candidates put out also show theirs. I try very hard to weed out the nonsense that most of us see and hear, but it's hard. My husband is union and they really have a slant. I am just an average voter and I am impressed that you have been a delegate. I must say that I think it is very hard to be a christian or a person of integrity to be a politician on any level, much less president.

I would have agreed with you prior to the debate. I didn't think he sounded knowledgeable then.
