Afterwards my pastor told the congregation to disregard what the preacher said, we don't believe like that.
At another church the pastor infact did stop him in the middle and kicked him to the curb...and that church is a UC church...
You have to wonder then...did that preacher hear from God or was he preaching just his opinion? If he did hear from God the the pastor was wrong....

Prax..please don't tell me you have to wonder about this....

That is a very elementary Scriptural concept.

I've been around for a while....I feel I'm somewhat past the elementary stage, but then that is a self assessment.... ....sometimes questions are asked even if the "asker" might know the answer, just add to the discussion or generate dialog or as a rhetorical statement.......

Kind of like Catholics using the one scripture about Mary being blessed among women to create the "Hail Mary" and numerous other prayers to her. They've developed an entire way of life devoted to her all from one or two scriptures. Scary huh? Glad us Pentecostals have never done that with anything...

I Corinthians 11
6If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.(NIV)
6For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.(ESV)
6 And if a woman be not covered [For if a woman be not veiled, or covered], be she polled; and if it is foul thing to a woman to be polled, or to be made bald, cover she her head. (WNT)
quick question:
If I cut the tip of my finger off did I cut my finger???

The answer is no. You can cut your finger and still not cut your finger!
