Jesus and his disciples/apostles-to-be sure did a lot of HORIZONTAL MINISTRY!!!!! (I am also SICK of that term.) It's music director invented spiritual narcissism--"LOOK, WE are worshiping BETTER than you are!!!!! We're praising GOD while you testify in song about your stupid little trial that God brought you through," etc etc ad nauseum.
hey, I am for all of it.
but i cant take the beatdown of "that isnt verticle!" makes me nuts!

Me, too. Well, who doesn't want to worship God (e.g., VW)? (among the church) Yeah, its the minimizing of the other types of music that gets on my nerves.

"Jesus is my boyfriend"...As far as I'm concerned, singing about our love for God is a wonderful thing.

So many today have an illegitimate relationship with a Bride who's NAME they refuse to accept or take on as their own. No wonder "Jesus is my boyfriend" then is so popular in churches today. And we wonder why we have so many problems getting our song services out of low gear and getting folks to get their mind on Jesus.
