I sang that song at a country church and kicked the tempo up a knotch and the place broke wide open. The same church went wild over "He brought me Out" too.
It all depends on how it's sung and when it's sung. Any song can be murdered or over sung I've found... Unfortunately, once it's been murdered it's awfully hard to ressurect! ***Sis LPW lays hands on her hymnbook and prays***

Preaching a lot of meetings and having been on Youth Committees for years I hear the best of the best... and, if they have that preservice songfest where everyone is allowed sing if they just 'sign up', the absolute worst of the worst.
When you mention how many ways a song can be murdered I immediately thought of about a three year period where I heard "I Choose To Be A Christian" sung in every tempo, every style and every melodic mutiliation known unto mankind.
It was NOTHING to have three people in a row singing that very song. One night the Youth President completely lost it and, through his laughter, told us that the latest rendition (being sung as he spoke) was to the exact tune of "The House of the Rising Son" except with the words, "I chooooooose to beeeeeeeee a Christiaaaaaaaaan"... and he was EXACTLY right!
One of the funniest things I've ever heard.
