He went to his hotel room and earnestly prayed that if it be God's will for him to preach that he then would do so. While he was praying, God gave him a message.
Saturday, he preached the Cross. He gave the assembled preaches there a challenge: "If you will preach the cross of Jesus seven consecutive messages to your church, you will see a change come upon your church."
Much later after the conference, he testified that he is getting calls from all over the U.S. from pastors who took up the challenge and is now seeing a move of God in their churches unlike anything that they have ever had before.
It's the CROSS, ladies and gentlemen. It's the CROSS. There IS a crossless christianity. But, that form of christianity is only a form of godliness with no sustaining LIFE, having no power.
The preaching of the cross is both the power and wisdom of God.

I believe it! I believe it! I believe it! Herein lies the harsh spirit that has overcome some in judging others. We have moved ourselves and our doctrine too far away from the cross. You can't get close to the cross and not feel the love, mercy, and grace of our Savior. You can't get close to the cross and not feel a love and compassion for mankind in their distress. We have been so casual in carelessly tossing men into hell. Especially those who don't agree with our explanation of "truth". Spending time at the cross will cure you of that spirit. Take me to the cross and I can find my way home from there!
