You might wonder what he meant by the term "broken vessel."
When one's will is completely surrendered to the will of another, then he is considered to be broken.
Ever "break" a horse. The horse is broken when he learns to accept and execute the command of the rider, whose will he is "broken" to obey. His will is surrendered.
Some people are like a wild horse. They are just as wild serving their own will considering their will is all that is important to them. One is truly broken when their will is no longer of any value but esteem the will of God to be all important to them. One is broken when their will becomes one with the will of God.
If that is not the attitude of the brother of whom you write, then surely he is not ready for any assignment at all....much less that of an assistant to the Pastor or Assistant Pastor.
