Three.

Two left and headed for Sodom, and Abraham still stood before the LORD.

This is a matter of simple arithmetic. It doesn't even require much theology or hermeneutics.

The Lord appearedin a theophany with two angels.

The angels moseyed on down to Sodom to drag Lot, his wife, and two daughters out of town so they wouldn't get their goose cooked with the homos, and the LORD in theophany stuck around to visit with Abraham for a while longer.

Simple matter? You need to keep reading...Gene. 19:24 says, "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire FROM THE LORD OUT OF HEAVEN." Which one was on earth and which one was in heaven? The three men represented God in His fulness--Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Abraham worshipped before all three. Two went on to Sodom while Abraham stood before the third and talked with Him. One remained on earth and rained fire and brimstone from the the Lord out of Heaven.

I wonder why God has tried to confuse us into thinking he is One solitary being by showing so many manifestations of the three throughout both the old and new testaments? Stephen saw two and was filled with the third. John saw two. Daniel saw two. John the Baptist saw and heard three. What were those men thinking telling us all that?

Maybe it's not 1+1+1=3 but 1x1x1=1
