Anyone Here Believe In Soul Sleep?
Defined like this:
At death we do not go straight to Heaven and stand before Yeshua. Rather we go to the grave where we "sleep" or wait until the resurrection. Then we are raised from death and receive eternal life.
Dont know if I am up to a full debate of it right now but interested to know if anyone else believes it. Thanks

The Biblical term for soul sleep is actually simply the resurrection of the dead. Anyone besides me embrace it?

Ephesians 5:14
Therefore He says: “ Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

1 Thessalonians 5:6
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:5-7 (in Context) 1 Thessalonians 5 (Whole Chapter)
1 Thessalonians 5:7
For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

1 Thessalonians 5:10
who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (in Context) 1 Thessalonians 5 (Whole Chapter)

Never heard of it.
As my grandmother was slipping from this life to eternal life, she said "I hear them singing" and we asked her who and she said the angels!
I can't believe she was going to sleep.

I am split I guess. I do believe the saved when they die go into the presence of God and SLEEP they do not cease to exist but rather rest until the resurrection where God rejoins the body and soul one asleep in Heaven the other asleep in the grave.

I would probably agree with this except to say "spirit" instead of soul sleeping in Heaven. Their active life does cease to exist but it will seem like just a moment, a twinkling of an eye until the resurrection.

I agree with you.
Plus folks that have died and come back talk about seeing folks in heaven, if they were asleep, how could they see and talk to them?

That is interesting Elder.
What the story of the Rich Man & Lazarus?
Lazarus was comforted while the Rich Man was tormented.
They both didn't seem to be in soul sleep.
