I agree that a pastor of a large church (and you don't have to get that big before this would become a problem) would have a problem answering the phone to hear the various reasons for the absent saints. However, in a lot of large churches they have groups set up called care groups that check on each other and report in to the pastor. Now before the fur sticks up on some people's back....this is to check on each other to see how everyone is doing, if there are needs that need to be addressed, prayers that need to be prayed etc. Contrary to what people believe Pastors do want to know where you were on service night because they do care and they want to know that you are ok. This leave me alone attitude, don't bother me, I don't need a pastor attitude reminds me of a teenager that goes into those know it all years. Some saints just need to mature a little bit and realize that it's not all about them. It's like a teeanager that has no clue when they were out until 2am, that Mom and Dad were worried. Pastors do care and I do believe that a great majority of them do. There may be a few who are bad apples but I have met a lot of Pastors and 99.9 percent of them really want to see their saints make heaven their home.
