Home Meeting Tonight
We had our first meeting in our home tonight, for training of some young couples who want to be involved in ministy. We have five young couples that we hand-picked from our church that we felt like the Lord would have us pour ourselves into for a time. JC and Darcie are one of them, and then four more couples.
We all ate, had a b-day cake for Darcie, and then sat in our living room and shared life stories for this first meeting. It was a very intimate time and the testimonies were amazing. It was so cool to see how God had put these couples together, as their stories were unbelievably alike in so many ways. Lots of hurt from churches/pastors, but healing through Jesus. There were differing church backgrounds represented, two black couples, two white couples and one Hispanic couple. I sat there thinking that this is what the Kingdom is supposed to be like!! We laughed and laughed and then cried as people shared their stories.
I'm very excited about this group! We had a prophetic word in 2007 that we were supposed to start raising up young leaders under us, that Eddie was supposed to be more of a Father to these young men. It really bore witness in our spirits, so that's what we are trying to do in 2008.

LOL! No, I don't think so. These people are all very involved in our local church here. It's just a casual meeting for these couples. We wanted to do it in our home so it would feel more intimate.

This is great! Where was you 15 years ago when I was in my early 20's desiring to be in ministry because of the call I recieved in my teens? I really wish I had what you are doing with these fine young couples. May the Lord Bless You as you raise up these young leaders.

Re: Home Meeting Tonight
We are going to start next month going through John Bevere's new book "Honor's Reward". We will plow through it one chapter at a time.

Discipleship at its best, organic, community, full of life. Wish I could have been there. God Bless this effort!
