I did give him feedback but he had his friends spam it so I would be sent lower down.

You can report him to Ebay but not sure what they will do about it. But people like that are extremely rare, I promise.
As for feedback, his friends couldn't have spammed you down because in order to leave feedback, one has to win an auction. He apparently had several auctions going on at once.
Your feedback will be seen, be assured of that. It goes against him if you left him negative. He can't cover that part.
