Why did Paul say we are willing to be absent from the body to present with The Lord?

Perhaps Paul was speaking about being absent from THIS body (the natural body)?

After all, he specifically stated we do not desire to be "unclothed", but rather clothed upon with immortality... which also indicates that we do not receive the fullness of immortality until we are clothed upon with it, which is the resurrection...

Re: Anyone Here Believe In Soul Sleep?

Soul sleep? Interesting! I will have to admit also, that Saul disturbed (disquieted) Samuel through the Witch of Endor. So, the idea of soul sleep does have merit.

Yes, Mike, I believe that is the biblical docrine. Thankfully, my pastor teaches it like this as well.

I do and I know my father John Eckstadt taught it. He was taught it by F.E. Curts.

My dads close friend Frank J Tamel also teaches it and has a book called.

Between death and eternity.

Was it the witch of Endor an evil spirit. You simply can not prove one with the other.

Otherwise could we talk to the dead in christ?

Don't the catholics pray to them?
