my husband was told he could go back to work 24 hours later. he didnt tho. i think he ended up waiting 2 days. he works nights, you have to put drops in your eyes every 2 hours for a few days....even when you sleep. he was not rested enough to return to work.

YO MOW, (the vain one) If I understood correctly they can do one eye near perfect, but undercorrect the other to assist in reading.

Re: Lasik Eye Surgery

I'll be reading to see how yours turns out. I've heard good stories from the people I personally know who have had it. Most took off work for one or two days.

I nearly failed my vision test in my right eye when I renewed my drivers license last week, so I am strongly considering this as well since I can't stand the feeling of glasses on my face and don't think I would do well with contacts.

Well, basically, that is the set up I have now with my contacts. One is for distance and the other is for close up. It works in well lit situations and for driving etc, but for long periods of reading, it doesn't work. I don't think I would like that as a permanent solution. All I have to do right now is take off my glasses and I can read fine for long periods without fatigue.

Hmmm... I was told the surgery will not effect how I can read now nor the rate of change in the future.... guess I am a bit confused - I may just get a couple glass eyes.

Re: Lasik Eye Surgery

My co-worker's son is a surgeon in a lasik clinic. All of the reports I've heard have been good. I never needed glasses until the 40's for reading.

Now it might help my better half.................but trust me, that's not gonna happen!
I'm the one that had the surgery 30+ years ago; and it was successful,no more bambinos.
