It seems you have to "check in" with the home page portal first. What's with you Southerners?
Anyhoo, both houses of the Alabama state legislature are currently under the control of the Democrats. This has been the status quo in Alabama for over a century. The Republicans have never controlled either house since Reconstruction.
So if Siegelman ran afoul of the law, it was a law written by his own party.
There also appears to be a concerted effort in the left-leaning elements of the media to keep the Republicans from winning control of the Alabama Legislature.
Harper's magazine tells the horrifying tale of a Democratic member of the House being arrested in her own shower by jack booted Federal agents.
How could those nasty Republicans have sunk so low? Or do these arrests reveal more about how the Democratic party has been able to exclusively control Alabama state politics for over 100 years?
