My point is that for the past 17 years, I've been taught that cut hair on a woman is rebellion and will send her to hell. So far, we've never had a pastor who has allowed a minister to preach if his wife did not abide by the "standards".

Ultra Conservative---more so of the first definition

So if your conservative your just about bad
if your Ultra conservative your bad
but if your "very" Ultra conservative ,,,, well, you are the scum of the earth. lol

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Why bother putting in the UPC part?

Scotty: we would'nt want folks to misunderstand and think we were discussing the actions of a pastor that was independant or AMF.
You know the AMF does not have any such among them anyway.

Why brother, NOBODY has such like that among them but UPC. Don't believe me, just read some of the other threads.

Well brother I use to attend an AMF church and I can assure that the "were better than the rest of ya all" spirit was very prevalant among them.

No, we all know it is wrong no matter WHAT church does it. But I DO believe it is much more rampant in Apostolic (UPC being one of them) churches then anywhere else. Catholics are probably a close second.

Works based performance. JWs also believe they are better than everyone else. They compare themselves to others, not just doctrine, but even their name "Jehovah's Witnesses"...
This alone should be enough to make us rethink the whole outward Holiness/works performance thing...it produces a prideful arrogant fruit. Im not saying we should not have works either or outward holiness, but the emphasis is taken off faith in Him and HIS work and placed on our own often.
( Gal 6:14) But may it never be for me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
