You've been a wonderful friend, I very much appreciate all you've done for me...I hope this parting won't make us strangers.
I agree that BOOM is an .....oh...ah..."asset". Nevermind.

LOL!!! J/K. No doubt Bored is greatly loved here and needs to take a deep breath, count to 100, make a few laps around the apartment, then get back on here.

If I were a betting man....oh wait I forgot I am.... so I will bet he is lurking!

He is the last person I thought would get their underwear tangled up and leave. He has been a blessing to me for a long time.

Sorry you are leaving Boom. Blessings to you and yours.

Life goes on.
I too don't understand what has happened. I had to bail out for a couple of weeks as I was going to school and work for some uptraining and then came back to find that "all the 'conservatives' are gone!"

I hope it has nothing to do with the encounter that I had with one of the Forum's "conservative" voices a little while back. He had made a rather serious accusation against another preacher and couched the whole thing with a bunch of ambiguity. I had never really dialoged with the guy before and I didn't know that he was supposed to be allowed to post anything he wanted without it being challenged; so I called him on it.

After embarassing himself with several posts attacking me personally and trying to bait me with what I thought was childish name calling - the guy banned himself! And it turns out that his accusation against that other preacher was false. They were just two guys who differed on their methods of church discipline and restoration. There was no drunken licentousness at his neighboring UPC church as he had tried to make it appear.

I noticed that all of the people who defended this poster have also left. Are people embarassed because they can't spin their good 'ol boy yarns with impunity? Shouldn't they instead be embarrassed by their own behavior?

Has my friend BOOMM now become embarrassed because these guys have left? BOOMMerino, you're bigger than all those other guys put together!

Really, if there's some sort of rule that "owners" can say whatever they want and you are only allowed to say "yowsa!" in response, then that rule needs to be published somewhere. We should not have to guess.

And if you want to be the "owner" of an open forum, you really need to be careful with your "facts" or grow a thicker skin.

Challenging an indecent and disrespectful accusation is not an act of disrespect; it is an act of decency and respect.

It leaves a bit of a question mark over the whole situation. One can only surmise that perhaps there were some behind-the-scenes machinations that caused him to end up leaving.

Obviously the people who really know aren't telling... and its not like they need to anyway.

At the end of the day, it does'nt matter that much. It is what it is. The forum will go on.

LOL. Sorry, but I had to laugh. I've known BOOMM since we were both "ultra-con" teenagers. He doesn't come and go because of "machinations." Those that "aren't telling" don't have anything to tell that BOOMM didn't say himself.
