I think the Mrs. has it right... eyes open! (and that goes for anyone in a position of authority... )
I don't look for the bad in preachers, lawyers or anyone else, but it's only wise to be careful. There are men who only masquerade as Godly men and Godly preachers... I'm glad I don't know any personally!!! The Bible refers to them as wolves in sheeps clothing.

There are certain expectations associated with the office that should draw us into a trusting relationship just as you would automatically trust a police officer, a judge, or a doctor.

With age comes wisdom and life experiences that NOW tell me, I can trust to a certain degree, but keep my eyes wide open.

Two great post!

I have to admit that I automatically trust the position of a Pastor or police officer....

But I have to remind my self they are just men.

If he's Apostolic, i'll trust him until he gives me reason not to.
Why not give him the benefit of the doubt?

If he's not apostolic...well, that's another story. Even more so if he doesnt even have the Holy Ghost.

TR, there are some men and woman who have not yet seen the Oneness or Baptism in Jesus name who are very good and trustworthy people... people I would trust my life with if I had to. (Not my spiritual life, mind you.)

As for me, this is how I see it! I can give anyone a chance.... But it doesn't take long for truth to come out.... I can't tell you how many times I have met or heard preachers and instantly I have felt vibes.... Sometimes their is something about that preacher or even person for that matter, something that I really like...... Then their are times when I don't care what they claim to be, some give me the willies! I usually take someone's word at first but it really doesn't take long for their actions to speak louder than their words....

I concur!
I find it's like this with all people... preachers and laymen and sinners alike.
