I've never water skied myself, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go if the occasion came up; and I don't think I would feel comfortable- or even safe in blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

I have water skied many times , absolutly love it...you must try it if you ever get the chance.
I have done it in shorts, (pre-salvation) and in jeans, but short sleeve shirt (post-salvation) ...yes it is a little less comfortable....but no less fun..
Either way, the statement in question was in bad taste. It doesn't matter if him and his buddies were wrong or not, what was wrong was say that my covictions are "stupid" and "embarassing to God".
