I have water skied many times , absolutly love it...you must try it if you ever get the chance.

I have done it in shorts, (pre-salvation) and in jeans, but short sleeve shirt (post-salvation) ...yes it is a little less comfortable....but no less fun..

Either way, the statement in question was in bad taste. It doesn't matter if him and his buddies were wrong or not, what was wrong was say that my covictions are "stupid" and "embarassing to God".

Now, can you imagine the response if a major university closed down their gym to all the male students that paid tuition so that Christian women can do what they wanted in there? There would be an uproar. Other colleges have accommodated Muslims by removing Christian religious trappings....even Christian schools have done that. You have to look at the larger picture of a growing trend.
That's the thing, though. Their press for religion freedom benefits us on the flip side, at least legally speaking.

Grade Schools have had class projects where all the non-muslim students had to take Muslim names and learn about Muslim practices and recite the quran etc etc....you think that is going to fly for all non Christian students to take non Muslim names, learn about Christianity and recite the bible? Nope.
I'm not going to get into an uproar because Muslims are being granted special rights, because it doesn't matter to me whether they are Muslim or Baptist--it's still religious freedom being allowed a bit of leeway on a college campus, which seems to be rare.

I have warned about this over and over....you all need to read the book
"Because They Hate"
http://books.google.com/books?id=NTJ...mbnail#PPA1,M1
You can read some of it there. This woman grew up in Lebanon. She saw first hand how a christian nation was taken over by the Muslims by a similar route we are taking and Europe has already taken.
The reason Christians haven't been able to use this to their benefit is simply because--they haven't used it to their benefit. If they wanted to take it to court and press the matter, they could probably realize the same freedom, based on the precedents set by Muslims and other minority groups.

Special treatment for Muslims, and the ACLU is silent.

If this was a Christian group, something tells me groups like the ACLU would be all over this.

Im not sure what my opinion of him wearing shorts has to do with his saying that stuff about being stupid etc etc....suggesting essentially everyone that keeps a standard is stupid. No, I don't think it is wrong for them to wear shorts

This and the other quote above have me confused. I am not sure of the point you are trying to make or how it relates to my original statement

BTW You DO know that I am not an Ultra Con right? Im not really even considered conservative according to StMatt and the others.....

It won't and has not in the long run and in a country where Political Correctness has run amuck

It does not matter to me if they ar Muslim or Baptist either....that is beside the point. They are NOT baptist. The Baptist religion is not being taught to our kids in public schools. It's not religious freedom. They are free to practice their religion anyways. Just like everyone else is. It's making special concessions and privileges available to one religion over another. And in this case it's Islam. The problem is, as stated before, is Americans are not seeing the larger picture...perhaps it is due to historical ignorance. Islam has taken over countries through bloodless Jihad. They start by immigrating there. They have many children there. They start demanding special rights to accomodate THEIR religion in the public and in government. They then use the laws and government to gain more power until they are the majority.

I think you are still not getting it. My point isn't "Sniff, sniff.....we Christians don't get that stuff"....My point is THIS is how Islam works to take over a nation.

That is right....Religion is not supposed to be taught in schools and my point isn't that we should be able to do it too. My point is that Islam is being taught to our kids. Islam is getting special treatment and Americans don't realize what is happening

No, I get it, Prax, my point is that the reason Christianity hasn't taken "over" the nation (at least in the public domain) is because Christians are too commonly apologetic about their freedoms instead of aggressively taking them. And I'm not sure that we should be as aggressive as Islam, BUT I'm just saying that we can't really complain when they step up and get their way--just because they stepped up and utilized the legal system. Legal action is not taken often enough to make a difference for us, unfortunately. And I'm just as lackadaisical as the rest--I have no interest in pursuing legal action against anyone.

Ok...we seem to be talking about two different things. I want to talk about the danger of Islam and how they take over nations and you want to talk about why Christianity aggressively going after the same things? Is that right?

I mean, if every religion went after what they wanted that aggressively and got it the gym would be closed to some group every day of the week....this is generally why our society does not give preferential treatments in school or government to one religion only. It's the reason why no religion is to be taught in our schools....any time Christians have tried the ACLU jumps in....when Islam is taught the ACLU does nothing....my point is not that Christians are being short changed but that Americans are asleep and allowing a sleeping giant to awaken in our midst....that is the growing threat of Islam. It is already a problem in Europe....are we next? Is this just an example of a growing trend here?

Re: A Muslim "standard" causes contrvesy

I agree, we are asleep. And it will take something bigger than 9/11 to wake us up, unfortunatly. How many illegal border crossings are there every day? How many of them are actually Mexican? Could one from the Middle East play himself off as Mexican? If so then how many of them are probably here? This whole topic needs its own thread.

Mrs B. You also are correct , but the problem is you are about 20 years too late. If I am anti-christian there is a system I follow to get my agenda passed. I start by taking you to task in California or Mass. where the liberals are already in power and sympathetic and ethics are a thing of the past. Once I have a foot hold there the rest of the country will follow suit. I work to vote liberal politicians into office so I can have liberal judges when my agenda gets to their courts. And of course I donate big time to the ACLU so I will have a supply of lawyers.
The above has already been done and put into place. Yes , even the rest of the country is following suit, remember the judge in southern baptist bible belt Alabama that was thrown out for having the 10 commandments?

Now we are about to have an all Democratic Congress and White House. Both candidates have already said that communication is the answer to the Islamic threat...............the beginning of the end..
