Last Night I watched TLC's "I Can Make You Thin" with Paul McKenna
I am so excited by this show! I think of all the weight loss material I have heard over the years on TV this is the MOST helpful!
The First Episode 1 Secrets of Naturally Thin People:
We Learned These Four Rules
1)Eat When You Are Hungry
2)Eat What You Want (as opposed to eating what you think you should)
3)Eat Consciously (This means put down the fork between bites-turn off the TV and anything else that keeps you from concentrating on your meal. Saviour each bite by chewing very slowly)
4)When You Think You Are Full STOP! (By Eating slowly and consciously, you will be more sensitive to being full, and notice that you eat a whole lot less)
Now I am just paraphrasing what he said in a 47 min show, so I really encourage anyone interested to look at his website for a better understanding.
One thing we like about the program is eating what you want as opposed to eating what you think you should. McKenna feels when you deprive yourself of certain items because you think they are bad for you, you set your self up for a binge eating.
So we tried applying his rules this morning at breakfast and found we ate about 1/4 of what we would usually would eat. Because we ate so much slower we found ourselves getting full with less food!
