"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (English Standard Version)
Some battles in the Word of God, GOD told the people to fight for He was with them. It is in THOSE battles where God's people won the victory.
And while some lost their lives, there wasn't a massive loss because God was with them.
But in those battles where folks just felt like they should do something, and didnt seek the counsel of the Lord, then God lifted His Hand from them and massive death, casualty and destruction ensued.
My question is are the leaders seeking God's counsel on whether to pull the troops? To date we have 4,000 troops who have died in Iraq.
Now we can say well that wasn't as many as was lost in so and so war.
But it is massive nonetheless.
It is my belief that God consented to Iraq, but He now wants it to end. And no one is listening so now daily we lose lives over there.
While I think 4,000 lives lost is 4,000 too many, to say that it's massive loss for a war is a severe overstatement. We've been in Iraq for 5 years now. The Iraqis have lost scores of thousands more.

Overall, 47% say they approve of “attacks on US-led forces” (23% strongly). There are huge differences between ethnic groups. An extraordinary 88% of Sunnis approve, with 77% approving strongly. Forty-one percent of Shia approve as well, but just 9% strongly. Even 16% of Kurds approve (8% strongly). The poll was conducted for WorldPublicOpinion.org by the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) at the University of Maryland and was fielded by KA Research Limited/D3 Systems, Inc. Polling was conducted January 2-5 with a nationwide sample of 1,150, which included an oversample of 150 Arab Sunnis (hereafter simply called Sunnis).
I love the way that you incorrectly dissected my comments.
You do not even deserve a response since you cannot properly reply.
Sister, I am as American as they come, but I don't put my hand on my heart or sing along with the national anthem. I think it's stooopid, to be honest with you, for people to sing and pledge allegiance to a flag.
This is where I differ from the other musketeers! If you are patriotic and truly love this country then you would show respect for the anthem by outwardly showing that respect with placing your hand over your heart, especially if you are in public office and running for President.
I will not defend or excuse Obama on just standing there with his hands clasp together in front of him. Most body language experts would have a field day on what his body language was conveying during the singing of the anthem at that event, IMO.
I am all for fairness and truth and that is why I have been defending Obama; however, I will not blindly defend him when he shows a lack of respect to our flag and country.

You're missing the point again. The doctrinal issue I'm talking about among some here that I would have included in my sentiments that Rico clearly expressed is Christian nation worship.
Rico isn't entirely talking about what I'm talking about. And I don't have ADD and I am perfectly willing to attempt to express the complexity of an issue. Most here love their pat answers and bumper sticker theology. You won't get that from me. If posting with me...prepare to read.
Chris, let's stay on track here. This thread is about the words of Obama's pastor. His words have nothing to do with Christian nation worship, nor doctrinal issues. THAT is the point here, not the rabbit trails you keep steering into.
And I knew that Rico wasn't talking about what you were. He was too simple and to the point. You are about more than that.

They will jump at nothing to denigrate and ridicule.
Um..Chris, do you realize that he was responding to my quote that he was speaking for you, and you've already admitted that he wasn't exactly correct in his statements about your point?
So that equates to me denigrating and ridiculing you (or him)???
Dude, you got problems. Serious ones.

Brother, I show my patriotism every time I make a point of not cheating on my taxes, especially when I am self employed. I also show my patriotism when I go vote. I don't need to sign some dumb song and put my hand over my heart while repeating the pledge to know that I am patriotic. This is just my opinion though. Hope that doesn't get me kicked out of the Three Muskateers Club though. It's nice to belong to something again.
