Would love to, give me a PM when you are headed this way and if at all possible, we will do.
There is a GREAT Pizza place there in Marshall, we can do any food you want, but when duty calls me there during lunch or dinner - I love that place.
Again it would be an honor.

I'm ex-UPC but not because I left, my pastor would not sign a paper agreeing with certain standards in the 1990's. I don't think he realy wanted to leave but he could not sign and be a liar and a hypocrite either. I would have no problem becoming part of a UPC congregation again and conforming to whatever standards were set forth if that is where God led me. I like the fellowship within the UPC body but not the governmental structure. (too much politics)

As a NY'r for 27 years before I moved to Austin, I'm a big (in more ways than one) fan of pizza.
Where is this great pizza place in Marshall?

It is not New York Style - you guys have the best. My wife gets upset with me, when we are there I want to stop on every other corner and go in and get a slice. LOL
I cannot remember the name off the top of my head, but it is on HWY 59 just north of I-20 on the west side of the road. No less than 1/2 mile I believe from the interstate.

Coop...I promise you there is a place within the UPC that you can have a balanced life.
Over the past 25 years, after graduating from Bible School (a upc), our family has moved from the left to live a balanced center life focused on Christ. Some people would acutually call us liberal, but we consider our lives to be BALANCED.
We raised our children without the standards (pants, hair, makeup, movies, tv, etc...) and have been able to attend a UP Church. We have an active leadership role with Preaching, Leading Music, Sunday School Leader, and Home Friendship leaders.
We taught our children that in all things a Christian must live a modest life. You should be able to find a UPC that will teach these "standards" are not a heaven or hell issue and just a preference. At least most of the church in these part believe that. Look around...the fundamental doctrine of the UPC is still Bible and a lot of ministers eyes are being opened to the "standards" be preferences not salvational issues. There is still hope for you.

I know which place you're talking about now. It's right near the the hotels there.
Same guy owns that place as owns the IHOP. I can't recall the name.
However, if I step foot in that place, I'll get shot by my wife and her family. The folks in that town don't like the owner that much.

It's Gucci's.
Don't worry. I'll work on them between now and then.
Probably won't be for awhile. We were just there for Christmas.
