Re: Lesbian Teens Allowed At Prom -Scottsboro, AL
I don't hate gays, but Jesus Christ died to save people from their sins, and can He set the captive free.I'm not a legalist but yet there are still things that the bible names as sin,and sexual preversion is one of them.
All are welcome at the foot of The Christ. The lust of the flesh can be overcome by the power of The Holy Spirit.

Scott
At one time scientists discovered that the earth actually rotated around the sun. However, the church believed and taught for centuries that the sun rotated around the earth. Those who believed the scientific claim of a heliocentric solar system were branded immoral heretics who threatened the very authority of the Bible. Some were formally charged for heresy.
The scientists were proven correct.
What if the science indicating that there may be a genetic link to this predisposition proves to be correct?

I agree that Jesus loves us and there is nothing we can do about that,we come to Jesus just as we are,but we don't stay that way.

Is this church-ese, or do you actually have examples to share?
Maybe a definition of what is meant here by "deliver" is in order as well.

What if He doesn't? Does that mean they're never welcome in the church? Or forever have to hide who they are, what they struggle with? Does it mean they live with skeletons in the closet for the rest of their lives?

The answers here are the same as any other sin. Why try to accuse God?

I don't doubt for a moment that all are welcome to come to Jesus, as they are, without condition. I do doubt, for a lot of moments, that the church (for the most part) can handle people coming as they are, without condition.
There are a lot of sins in the Bible that the church doesn't hammer into the world, and the congregation. Then there are others that are harped on so much, and for so long, that they serve to keep people from approaching God because it's well known that the person will not be welcome in the church, therefore God must not be interested either.

What if there is a genetic factor involved? (see post #42)

Re: Lesbian Teens Allowed At Prom -Scottsboro, AL
The church should be accepting of people without accepting sin as ok.
We can hate sin,but love the sinner.Jesus Christ and His blood can clean people up,the church can't clean anybody up.

What if the homosexual is struggling against a biological anomaly as a result of their genetic make up?
