I preached a message the other day entitled "Free Samples"

I won't drag the thought out...

But I went through many of the miracles Jesus performed in His life including acts such as the woman taken in adultery who was about to be stoned.

The woman with the issue of blood - healed.
And yet he didn't require anything of her. He didn't even invite her to church.

The blind man. Healed.
Jesus required nothing of him.

The woman taken in adultery. Forgiven.
She was simply told to go and sin no more.

Over and over Jesus healed. Freely. Without any "now that I've healed you there is something you need to do for me.

He simply saw needs and met them. For free.

Now... Do I believe that these lives were affected and probably found their way to the meetings from house to house? Absolutely. That is what his free adn untethered love does to people.

If I am to follow the example of the life of Christ then I would find myself moved with compassion when I see a need. Giving away free samples of His love and letting THAT LOVE have its work in peoples life.

The world is so tired of everything always having an agenda.

It's not like there is a limited supply of his love and power.

We can afford to give away free samples... and then walk off... as they stand there mesmerized... that someone ministered to them, healed them, strengthened them... for no reason at all.... except that they saw a need and it was just their nature to meet it.

Freely we have received... freely we should give.

Very good, I heard someone the other day say this, sickness is not the problem therefore healing isn't the answer, sin is the problem and salvation of the inward man is the answer. Healing is simply a sign pointing toward the ultimate healing of the sin problem. Jesus prayed for the Sick, upwards of 30%of the Gospels deal with his healing ministry, the Apostles prayed for the sick, every preaching opportunity in Acts except one (Athens) came about through some type of sign gift or manifestation of the Spirit.

As the Father sent me so I send you...

These signs shall follow believers...

These works and greater works shall...

So that ye come behind in no gift...

Covet spiritual gifts...

Yes sir... and along those lines.

Who needs the healing ministry? The sick.

What about the well?

How badly do we need a family healing ministry?

A relationship healing ministry?

I appreciate you talkin about this Bro Keith.

It does seem that from your response you question the faith of most of the individuals that I have been in contact with during the time someone is getting prayed for.

As far as fears, I'm confused? What would you tink I'm afraid of and how does that relate to all the people that I have seen prayed for and not healed. Am I to be held responsible?

Faith comes from hearing, before I proceed to heal someone there must be some direction from the Lord, or I can pray a prayer of petition. But if I don't have direction or the person being prayed for doesn't believe that God wants to heal them, I don't pronounce healing. Faith orginates from God, the key word is hearing. If I can master hearing, then healing will come. Again I don't tell someone that they are full of unbelief and that is the reason they are not healed, unless the Lord specifically tells me that.

But on occasion I know healing didnt take place because the person being prayed for didn't want healing, though outwardly they did, my sense was that they didn't want the changes healing would bring. Some are afraid of what being well brings, getting off disability, no longer getting sympathy, being responsible for their own lives, stopping smoking, etc.

Most would be surprised how much physical illness comes from broken relationships.

Keith I certainly don't mean to be disrespectful, and maybe an element to what you say is true, but I would imagine that logic dictates an extremely minimal amount of crippled, deaf, blind folks that don't want to experience a miracle.

Fear of then unknown may be a factor, but not wanting to be made whole due to receiving extra sympathy has got to be an unbelievably small percentage.

Let me ask you this Bro K. Why do you think Paul seperated the "Gifts of healing" from the "working of miracles"?

That's why I point on occasion, I got into every ministry opportunity with the mindset that God want's to heal, then I ask the Lord to bring healing and be sensitive to his leading, then proceed.

Then there are those words of knowledge that God give that brings a real sense of anointing and then we can proceed with tremendous authority, but healing is not a science and there are many factors involved, but I never accuse or condemn someone for a lack of faith, Jesus said that only a mustard seed amount is required. The problem that I see is most believers have no idea of how to go about it, that is the real problem.

Well Paul separated the 2, I think for organization and simplicity sake but often Gifts blend in practice and it's hard to know what happened. But Mircales often are involved with more than just healing, walking on water, turing water into wine, feeding 5k with a few loaves and fishes, etc.
