Re: Gabby's

Mornin Y'all!!

Today was day #4 of getting up at 5:30 and walking......needless to say I am SORE! And tired! But I am feeling better already! I feel more energized during the day (not inthe evenings Lol!) and I am more upbeat, I can think better........I am so happy we are doing this and hopefully I can continue on.

The new job I am wanting to get is from 7:00am - 3:30 so I don't know if I will be able to but I am loving it right now!

Re: Gabby's

I have to share my episode with blinds for my new house.

The day we moved in we went to Lowes and bought 3 sets of blinds for 3 large windows. There was only one person working in the area so we had to wait over 30 minutes to be serviced.

We chose our blinds had them cut and went on our way.

Finally, my husband got around to putting them up to find out they were all cut the wrong size. Back to the store we went to have them we cut. Again, another long wait. My husband was so mad he was about ready to leave with them as is and let the manager know how he felt about the lack of service. Glad I waited in the car.

Gets home and another week later he hangs one set. Fits fine.

Another week and he hangs another one. They were too long and width was cut to short. We lived with it. He cut the length off these since they were veriticals.

Finally, this week he decides to hang my other blind, gets it hung just to find out it is broken the blinds won't go up or down. Back to the store I go. These things are heavy since they are 1" wooden blinds for a 71x71 window.

I get to the store and have to get a refund, since they wouldn't do just a simple exchange. I told her I had to take them with me to the dept for them to know what size they needed to be cut. She puts a return sticker on it and away I go.

You guessed it. Another LONG wait. Only one person can cut the blinds and she also mixes the paint. Everyone was wanting paint. So finally, I leave my blinds by the cutting machine and go get in line as she wasn't leaving any of the paint customers. Another lady came up and needed 4 gals of paint. I looked at her like "I'm still waiting"! And she tells the lady she will be right back she needs to go cut a blind.

We get the cutting machine and someone has taken my blinds! We looked the store over. I talk to a manager and explain the problem I have had everytime I come to have my blinds cut. He said go back to the blind dept and he will have someone come help me.

I wait and wait and no one comes. By now it is 1:30 and I haven't had lunch and my blood sugar starts dropping. I tell the manager I have to eat and I will be right back and gave him my cell phone number. While eating it dawns on me I gave him my husbands prefix and my number. OH what at day!

Finally, I pick out new blinds give him the measurement of the window and I HOPE he cut them the right width.

No, my husband has not hung them yet. Still in the car!!!

Moving is NOT fun!!!

Re: Gabby's

Esther!! That is so frustrating! My SIL is a manager at Lowe's!

We had the same problem with exterior paint at Home Depot. It worked out well for me, but my husband was furious and ready to leave.

First - - I go to pick up a few cans of primer. It got hung up on another can and came crashing down on my new shoes and the floor!!! My husband just walks off and I'm standing there with primer on my shoes.

They got this awesome stuff that turns it into powder and then they just swept it up. Very cool!

We ordered 5 gallon buckets of paint. They mix it all and when we are checking out my husband notices that they had mixed "interior" paint. Back to the very crowded paint counter!

They remix all the five gallon buckets and mixed the "wrong color"!!!

Well, by then my husband as FURIOUS!!! When he if FURIOUS you better get out of the way.

What worked out for me is that I wanted the Behr Plus Ultra Exterior Paint all along and they gave us that for the price of the Premium Plus. The Ultra has a built in primer, which I wanted.

So, it was a blessing for me. The paint is still sitting in the shop! We haven't gotten around to this project yet. I'm trying to locate someone to prep the wood. I'll probably have to end up doing it myself because of my husband's long hours at work. Well, we have plenty of equipment. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: Gabby's

My husband calls Lowes - SLowes because of the service you get in the store!!!!! If at all possible we try to go to the smaller stores because you get better service, but you pay for it. If we have to go to the big box stores, we take a deep breath and brace up for the wait.

Update!

The blinds are hung and fix perfectly!!!

Praise Jesus.

I am amazed how many others are having poor service at Lowes. Very surprising.

Re: Gabby's

We have never had a problem getting service at the Lowe's in Corinth. Every time we've ever needed assistance with anything, we've never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. It's WALMART in Corinth that it's impossible to get help with anything if you need it.

Hey, my daughter is planning on a family later this year!!! I thought something was up when she started carrying baby clothes in her store.

The cutest stuff. The outfits have scriptures on the front and the back. She is carrying diaper bags in the same line with scriptures - so cute.

They are really planning - they bought an above ground pool to exercise in.

PO - does your daughter have a website for online orders from her store? I have read several of your posts about things that I know I would be interested in....
