I am not sure... this lady would be in her late 60s by now I am guessing... She has a daughter named Reba (named after Reba Rambo of course) and a son name Rich who is now a motivational speaker and if I remember correctly he held a seat in senate or something like that for a while. They lived here for a long time and I think they still do in the general area and she taught at our church school. She is the one who started the deaf ministry at our church also

My daughter called me yesterday at lunch and asked had I heard about this. My hubby said we would probably be hearing alot of her music on the christian TV stations for the next few days.

What a devastating loss. Dottie Rambo is a hero to many of us! Amazing woman of God! So anointed. She will be greatly missed and remembered. Her voice lives on in her beautiful songs. My prayers are with her family and many dear friends...

I was born and raised in the Lockport, IL church, but know the Joliet church well. If it was packed, that means there was about 200-250 people there, if it was at the church currently in existance.

Of course, being so young, that was waaaaaaay before my time!! LOL!

But I have a lot of her music on my computer, and I'd have loved to have heard her sing in person just once.

I talked with my mother, and she said that Kenneth Dyson was pastoring in Joliet at the time. I know that he was pastoring there by the late-sixties, but there may have a pastor there before him.

When my dad came over to the UPC in the fall of 1964.

He preached a rally in Texas.

The special music was the Rambo's.

From then on until they left the UPC.

My dad and mom were friends of their's...

I had just been born in July 1964.

She had a great heart after God....

Regarless of how man on earth or in any organization may want to judge her...

Some time ago, the Rambos were part of a record that was used as a fund raiser for the youth dept. of an organization called the Apostolic Missionary Council or something like that. Some, if not all of that, was recorded at the church in Cincinnati pastored by Bro. Joe David Sizemore. I'm not sure when that was and if Bro. Sizemore was in the ALJC at that time or not. Maybe he was in both the AMC and ALJC back then. I don't know if the AMC even exists any more or not.
