Oh and my mom providing rolls of birthday streamers for my friends to unexpectedly wrap me from head to toe in!

We had a blast.

Re: Need Help with Themed party for Teenager

Nah Sweet Pea there is still nothing wrong with the normal sleepover and party... Its just that they have had those and they have never really had the chance to have nice parties as we were military and then worked at a few pretty small churches and they never had many friends or chances to have a lot of fun with their friends. They have grown wonderfully here and are in a large group now and are happy. They wanted to have bigger parties so we agreed. When you have over 100 kids coming its best not to have them at your house anyways for the oldest 3 (as the youth group here is very together group and if we invite one we invite them all ... and they all come.. as a matter of fact they usually make that a youth service for the week) so thats why we chose the park and rec center for them... and the 50s thing is just something special for special reasons her grandfather and father planned those and I am so happy they did!

The other 2 are having small parties here at the house and one is decorating as a Luau and the other asked if she could do a theme and I think its wonderful!

By no means did I mean to come across as being critical.... I think it is great that you are able to have these special parties for them. I can totally understand that situation of inviting one - invite them all! Have a great time! I hope that you come up with a unique idea and theme for this party .... I'm just behind the times in areas like this.

me too. And that party was when Walt was in the nursing home two years ago. He organized it from his bed at the nursing home and had everyone else do all the work bringing stuff in and decorating and inviting family and friends. He used the dining hall at the home and SURPRISED ME!

Am I married to the greatest guy in the world, or what! Here's this guy who just fought for his life and now is relearning how to walk and feed himself. But he somehow figures out how to throw a surprise birthday party for me. Yep, he's the best!
