I am too new to know WWOD, but I am amazed...and a little confused at what seems to be a very genuine concern for Dan's emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being should he accept this challenge. Is this guy or gal like some Jedi-mind -trick Hannibal Lecter who is going to leave DA traumatized?

Pretty much.
He probaby wouldn't actually eat DA, but he'd chew him up and spit him out.
Yeah, I almost left that out, but then I figured a good old Apostolic forum...people might not know who I was talking about j/k.
Seriously, no disrespect intended since I do not know him/her. I was just struck by the concerned tone of many of the responses.

Dan, for the record - I think you should do it. Perhaps it should not or could not happen here on AFF.
Who would "WIN"? Should I really care about that? It is not so important. The important thing is you both have material and it can and should be put to the test.
I would recommend a neutral venue/site and at least one moderator who has the authority to shut it down, call a time out, and redirect the line of debate as needed to stay on course.

DA, I really agree with the others here...I think you are smart, and can hold your own, but this probably isn't a good idea.
Winning is subjective, btw.

C'mon! You all are overreacting.

WWOD may force Dan to rethink his theology and agenda...
I am serious.
