If you have God on your side, then you do have a standard -- The Bible. So, there is no standard-scmandard...God has given many standards for us to live by in those pages. It would be foolish to discard them.

Anyway, since I was raised in a non-denominational trinitarian penticostal church (where I came into Oneness believe via personal Bible study and prayer) I never had the "standards" as many of you was raised with. So techniquely I didn't "drop" standards. I did spend some time in the UPC, but I could not deal with the standard taught because I knew they where coming from man without enough of a scriptural reference to make it as important as they were taught. (and in some cases, no scriptural reference)
Nor was I. I came to the revelation of the need to be baptized in Jesus name because of the relationship I already had with the Holy Ghost. I sought, studied and prayed over the standards issue. God never led me to stop doing what I was doing standard-wise or to begin doing something different.

This may have been stated many times already on this thread, but I have not taken the time to read the entire thread.

I do not know of anyone who has dropped dress standards. Some have changed, but no one has dropped.

Agreed, frankly I get offended when a church is described as having NO standards. Even when done by the people their. The most liberal on this forum have very high standards when compared to what passes for mainstream Christianity today.

What passes for mainstream Christianity today?

I don't see anything wrong with it, PP. It's a cartoon. It's not like she used actual pictures of Lynda Carter showing off her wares. You have a problem with strapless shirts on women?
