You may have heard that I quit my job back in March to work from home. The company I was working for wouldn't change my schedule, and my not being home in the evenings was taking a big toll on my family. So I quit and decided to go back to work for a work from home company I had worked for in the past. When I submitted my application to them they saw that I am a licensed insurance agent and decided to put me working in a program they are working for a major insurer here in the States. What they didn't tell me was that it would take weeks for them to get me licensed in enough states to be able to actually start taking any calls for them. Because of this wait, we had to use our savings to live on. My wife had been bugging me about wanting to go to work, I figured there was no point in both of being home all the time, realized the money she would make certainly wouldn't hurt, so off to work she went at the local Wendy's.

I've been taking calls for this company for about the last 5 or 6 weeks, and am just now starting to get enough hours in to not have to worry about us ending up out on the street. (Thank you Jesus) For now her money is needed to make ends meet, but, by the end of the summer things should be rolling enough with my work from home gig so that her money will be strictly play money. We can't wait 'til we get there. So, you probly read parts of this here and there on the forum and that's what gave you the idea that I don't work. Either that, or someone lied on me and needs to be tarred and feathered!!!

I'm 101% with you on getting the kids to do most of the work around the house. Not only are they the ones who tend to make most of the mess, but they also learn responsibility for taking care of themselves that way.

True that. It's starting to kick in finally. The girls are doing a better job of cleaning their room, my son washes his own clothes and keeps his room in order (as best as I could expect from a teenager anyway), and I catch them arguing over whose turn it is to wash the dishes after supper when their mom is at work. All this without me having to get red-faced and mean even!! Yeeeeehaaaaa!

Rio, didn't mean to be hard on you but guys who let their wives work and don't help around the house is one of my pet peeves along with those who like Obama.

So far you've been my buddy on the Obama thing.

Brother, if you understood our situation, and the battles we fight with peoples' perceptions, you'd understand why I got a little defensive. I forget sometimes that my AFF family doesn't really know us all that well.

As for Obama, he's going to be the next President of these here United States, so people need to get used to the idea or start makin plans to move to Canada.
